At the end of the episode when the truth was revealed, Hunter was expressively worried and apologized, saying that it all happened so fast and he didn't realize what was happening until she was gone. When facing Belos during the Day of Unity, Belos tries to manipulate Hunter to stop fighting to no avail. After Belos takes control of his body and kills Flapjack, Hunter regains control and finally stands up to Belos, attempting to end his reign of terror by drowning the both of them. From then on, Hunter began obsessively trying to get his friends to track down Belos as soon as they returned to the Demon Realm.

Luz watches as Amity apologizes and promises to be a better person in the future. After exiting Willow's mind, Willow questions Luz on how Amity found out about the memory in the first place. During her second day in the Boiling Isles, Luz is excited to learn magic with Eda, but Eda, besides showing little interest in Luz's training, has other methods of teaching her, including selling potions all over Bonesborough. Luz does not fare too well in this endeavor, realizing that Humans are not well liked in the Boiling Isles.
Unbeknownst to them, a remnant of Belos follows Hunter to the Human Realm and ends up possessing him, nearly killing his friends and Flapjack in the process. This gives Hunter the strength to finally stand up to his uncle, and he sacrifices himself in an attempt to defeat him once and for all. Belos, weakened but not dead, returns to the Demon Realm, and Hunter and his friends follow closely behind, vowing to honor his fallen palisman.[9] After the group escape capture by the Collector, Hunter helps evacuate the trapped residents from the Isles' destruction. Following Belos' final demise, Hunter chooses to remain on the Isles and work to rebuild society. During this time, Luz offered comfort to Kikimora, which caused her to open up to Luz despite their previous clashes.
Everyone, except Vee, heads to the Demon Realm, with him being the first to cross. He, King, and the other teenagers fly to the head where they disable the Abomatons by the Coven Heads and he checks on Darius. When Belos sees him, he pleads with Hunter to not attack him, but becomes enraged upon seeing Flapjack.
During the Haunted Hayride, Hunter told Luz that he and the group planned a surprise for her in gratitude for all she and Camila did for them. After Belos possessed Hunter and he broke free, Camila jumps into the water to save him from drowning. When Hunter was recovered, Camila asked him if he was okay and affectionately referred to him as "baby". Darius was initially shown to dislike Hunter, talking down to him harshly, finding him annoying, and refusing to even look at him when Hunter asked for help.[22] Hunter's predecessor was Darius' mentor, and he said that Hunter wasn't worthy of wearing the Golden Guard's sigil.

Following her arrival to the Demon Realm, Luz immediately came to despise Belos for his cruel and oppressive rule over the Boiling Isles, and realized that he was extremely dangerous and up to no good from the moment she saw him for the first time.
Later that day, as everyone is saying goodbye to Gwen and Lilith, who goes with her to stay and reconnect. Before leaving, Gwen reveals that Luz is the second human she knows off to arrive in the Boiling Isles, and that he left a diary at the library. After Gwen and Lilith leave, she wonders how her mother is reacting now that camp is over, unaware that someone has been taking her place.
